Affectionately known as the Gaffers, the Queensland Cruising Yacht Club Vintage Yacht Regatta is a celebration of classic timber yachts, traditional seamanship and the people who keep these beautiful vessels sailing.
Held annually on Moreton Bay, the regatta brings together owners, skippers and crews for a relaxed weekend of racing, social activities and camaraderie. From beautifully restored classics to much loved family cruisers, the event showcases an important part of Queensland’s maritime heritage.
The weekend includes a welcome gathering on Friday evening, two days of Around the Cans racing followed by presentations and celebrations on Sunday.
Open to eligible timber vessels, the Vintage Yacht Regatta welcomes both returning competitors and newcomers alike. From small keelboats to restored classic cruisers, and the skippers who keep them sailing, it is a chance to celebrate the enduring appeal of traditional boats and life on the water.

Vintage Yacht Regatta Race 1
Start the day with breakfast overlooking the marina and watch the fleet prepare for a day on the water. Lunch bookings are also available throughout the day.
From 8.00am – Breakfast
Breakfast available in the Club from the regular menu.
From 5.00pm – Regatta Dinner
Join competitors, crew and supporters in the Bar & Deck area following racing.
Meals are available from the regular menu, with drinks available from the bar.
